It's going to happen. You thought you had the proposal under control and something happened. Either you underestimated the magnitude of the effort, or your Red Team redirected your entire approach. Or, something totally unexpected came from left field and totally blind-sided you. You need help and you need it now. Rather than promise, an example of what we have done in the past will serve as testimony of the effort we will deliver to you.
Situation --
Len Duffy was hired to participate on a Red Team. The proposal team was lead by a systems integrator and included several major subcontractors. Len was hired by one of the major subcontractors. The procurement was for the design, development, and production of a major end item.
Delivery Date Minus 11 Days and Counting
Started participation on a red team.
Delivery Date Minus 10 Days and Counting
At 10 AM, the prime announced they were considering dropping out of the competition.
At 3 PM, the prime announced they were indeed dropping out. They then imposed a number of conditions on the remaining team members before they could use any material developed for the proposal.
Delivery Date Minus 9 Days and Counting (A Friday)
At 4 PM, we receive permission to take data off the walls and get disks with tests and graphics.
At 7:30 PM, disks leave on an airplane for Pittsburgh. Len Duffy commenced planning for the complete revision of the proposal.
Delivery Date Minus 8 and 7 Days and Counting (A Weekend)
Len and the rest of the team gather in Pittsburgh. Data from disks is loaded on computers and converted to PageMaker. Additional team members start to gather from sites located across the country.
Delivery Date Minus 6 through 2 Days and Counting
Through a combination of leadership and hands on work, Len directed the complete re-write of the proposal.
Delivery Date Minus 6 through 1 Day and Counting (Nervously)
Final production and real time editing occur in an around the clock session.
