(There is magic in an organization and its principles!)
First, our people are experienced and successful. We each have lived and breathed proposals for over 15 years. We stay current on the essentials of proposal excellence, such as procurement and source selection policies, automation, and use of the Internet. Next, the Proposal Group of Len Duffy and Associates, uses what we believe are the best tools available for proposal analysis, design, development, and team communication. But, all proposal professionals should be willing to make this claim. Again the question --why should you consider Len Duffy and his group of experts?
The answer is in the principles defining our routine conduct. When you seek proposal help, you share key corporate data with your consultant. You must trust your proposal professionals.
As in most organizations, the conduct of the leader of the company guides the associates' behavior. How do we best describe Len Duffy? -- Dad. The Dad we wished we were or wished we had. But, is it a Dad you want leading your proposal? Quite honestly, yes. The next four paragraphs reveal why this is important for your proposal team.
Let's visit the children's pictures above. The two older sons portray Len's role as a single parent. Starting when they were 2 and 4 years old, and for over six years he single handedly lead them through their formative years. Where are they now? Jon, the oldest, a graduate of the Naval Academy, is stationed in San Diego. Michael is an elementary special education teacher. How does this apply to your proposal? It certainly demonstrates Len's ability to prioritize, work hard, and positively lead by example. These characteristics define his organization.
Katie (pictured with Len) and Zack (cuddling with Carol - wife and Mom) continue the narrative of how you benefit by working with the Proposal Group. These children of his current marriage to Carol refined his conduct. One of those smiling faces is a child with autism who must work overtime to live in your and my "normal" world. The other is a sibling who often is the translator to and from the outside world. Benefits from proposals and autism?
Definitely read on!
We apply the same dedication and professionalism to understanding your company -- its strengths and weaknesses, and the details of what it will take to make your proposal successful, as Len has learned with these two children. He works continually to build on their strengths to ensure the success of both children. For his son with autism, he both builds on strengths and hurdles weaknesses to lead this gift of a child to personal success. Yes, a special needs child is that great wake up call that not all of us have the mixed blessing of receiving. Everyone who is part of Len Duffy's Proposal Group interacts regularly with both children.
And what does communicating with this special child do for the Proposal Group professionals? It teaches that it is our job to quietly listen and investigate in order to understand what the child is communicating. It is our job to accept that not everything will be done according to our high standards and we must both teach and do. It is our job to ensure the child's success. And it is our job to define the communication rules guaranteeing a long lasting, beneficial relationship with this gift of a child.
And your proposal team benefits? Re-read the previous paragraph and substitute references to the child with references to your company and more specifically, your proposal team. We have continuous training in listening, working to ensure success, and working on a long term satisfying relationship.
